MARK

Mark is a co-founder and Office Manager of H.E.L.P. He has many years experience in large companies and  the charity sector. He has an in-depth knowledge of office management, policies and staff management. He has volunteered with various local organisations and has a genuine passion for helping people in need. 

BECKIE

ENGY

Engy is Manager of the Homes for Ukraine Programme at H.E.L.P and also co-founded the charity. She has experience in managing refugee resettlement schemes and has worked  supporting Syrian families for many years and as a translator. She attended University in Egypt and later settled in the UK. She speaks English and Arabic fluently.

RANIA

STAFF

Beckie is a co-founder and Outreach Manager of H.E.L.P. She has worked in the charity sector for a number of years and has volunteered for charities based in Sri Lanka, Uganda, Congo and the UK.  She studied International Development through Cambridge University and The Open University, around being a single parent to a child with additional needs. She brings experience in outreach and fundraising to the team.

Rania is a co-founder and Manager of H.E.L.P. She has worked in the charity sector for many years, supporting Syrian refugees as well as other refugees and asylum seekers. She brings experience in casework management and supporting resettled families with a variety of needs. She is dedicated, hard working and knowledgable in a wide number of areas. She speaks Arabic and English fluently. 

KSENIA

OLA

Ksenia is a Caseworker on the Homes for Ukraine Scheme at H.E.L.P. She has come to the UK recently from Ukraine with her children. She is a kind and helpful member of the team, who speaks both Ukrainian and English.

TOM

Tom runs the EON (Employability for Overseas Nationals) Project funded by the UK Government and International Recruitment East, based at HELP charity full-time. He has over 7 years’ experience assisting refugees in both education and employment. He has worked internationally teaching in Saudi Arabia and Malta and has a working proficiency in the Arabic language. He can help with anything employment related.

SOPHIE

Ola is our Activities Co-ordinator at H.E.L.P. She has a law degree and many years experience of volunteering with local charities. She enjoys cooking and is good at making people feel welcome and at ease. A mum of two active boys, she is hard working and speaks both Arabic and English.

OKSANA

Oksana is our Caseworker on the Homes for Ukraine Scheme at H.E.L.P. She has many years experience of working and living in England with her family. She is a kind and helpful member of the team, who speaks Russian, Arabic and English.

ANNA

Sophie is a Training & Evaluation Officer at H.E.L.P. She oversees staff and charity processes, ensuring things run smoothly and helping us measure impact. She has several years of experience working with asylum seekers in Peterborough and is a friendly and compassionate individual.

Anna is our ESOL tutor at HELP. She is a qualified English teacher and will be running our English lessons for Ukrainian refugees over 4 days per week at our premises in Peterborough City Centre. She is Ukrainian and has experience of settling in Peterborough as a refugee.  

TRUSTEES

DR. ZOHRA

Zohra is a qualified paediatrician. She has experience of coming to the UK from Libya and settling into life in the UK. She is a parent, an active part of the community and has experience of working with refugees. She speaks English and  Arabic.

MOE

SALLY

Sally is a qualified Occupational Therapist working with Anglia Ruskin University in training young Occupational therapists. She has been a resident of Peterborough for many years and understands the needs of our area. 

KAMILA

As well as being a trustee for HELP, Moe works with young people at Peterborough College. He is also a talented children's entertainer and volunteers his time for charity events.

LYNN

Lynn has many years experience of working with refugees as a therapist/ counsellor for the charity Refugee Council. Now she continues with providing supervision for other counsellors. She has been involved in City of Sanctuary steering work in Peterborough and many voluntary roles for refugee wellbeing. 

TITANI

He has lived  experience of being a refugee and raising his family in Peterborough. He runs a small charity in Africa helping children with disabilities. 

Kamila is a law graduate, with experience of working with refugee families. As well as being a HELP trustee, she has lived experience of coming from Afghanistan and settling into life in the UK. She speaks Farsi and English.

MAHMOUD

As well as a trustee, Mahmoud has experience of being a refugee and raising his family in the UK. He is a successful businessman, a father and has experience of living and working in Peterborough. He speaks Arabic and English, as well as taking an active interest in our football team.

BILAL

Bilal is a dedicated and hard working volunteer, who helps service users with forms and with office administration. He has lived  experience of being a refugee and raising his family in Peterborough. He speaks English and Urdu.

VOLUNTEERS

We have a great team of volunteers who help with a range of activities... such as in the office, with bike repairs, with translation, setting up and running events, teaching sewing, with counselling therapy, face-painting, being Santa at Christmas!
